Who would have thought that there is such a beautiful outdoor forest wedding venue in the mountains just about 1 hour from Los Angeles? Best of all, it is at the historic Santa’s Village near Lake Arrowhead.

The original Santa’s Village was opened in May 1955, even before Disneyland. After several changes in ownership the park was reopened on Dec 2nd, 2016 with activities for all ages year round including but not limited to rock climbing, mountain biking, and fishing. In addition, the property now has a beautiful outdoor wedding site with the capacity of up to 300 people. Summer weddings in Southern California can be beautiful and hot. Fortunately, you don’t have to suffer through the extreme heat on your wedding day anymore. It’s typically about 10-15 degrees cooler in the mountains during the Summer months so you can have all the benefits of a dream Summer wedding without the heat.

I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to photograph a beautiful forest wedding inspiration styled shoot at Skypark Weddings. With the national forest as the backdrop of your wedding ceremony while your guests dine under the beautiful string lights and enjoy the fresh mountain air, it is one of the most beautiful outdoor forest wedding venue in Southern California. Thanks to all the vendors who participate in the shoot, and I’m so happy to be able to finally share some of my favorite photos of the day. These were shot with both full frame digital and medium format film camera, using Kodak Portra 400.
